      Hello,

      Please could someone help me clarify.

      I am interested in experimenting with ConnectX-5 NIC interfaces by offloading some packet processing from OVS unto the hardware NIC. So I am trying to follow the steps here from NVIDIA to install the drivers on a FABRIC node. But it requires that the Ubuntu OS on the node boots from a UEFI firmware. Is there a way I can boot nodes in my experiment from UEFI instead of BIOS?

      Maybe a better question is, can I do this on FABRIC?

            Acheme,

            We did a first-order assessment – we should be able to do this (probably) – however the reports of OpenStack support for this (which we need in order to enable for experiments) suggest there may be bugs. We will need to test and make sure it doesn’t affect the stability of the system. We will also need to assess what actions the control software needs to take to support it. Thank you for bringing this to our attention – we will investigate further and report on this thread.

                Hi Acheme,

                We investigated the possibility of enabling UEFI mode for users but encountered issues where GPUs do not function in that mode. Consequently, we have opted to maintain updated firmware to mitigate these errors for users. Could you please rerun your experiment and inform us if the error persists? I am available to collaborate with you on upgrading the firmware and addressing the issue.
