      Dear experimenters,

FABRIC is open for business again. The maintenance is complete.

The following sites will be showing in maintenance for now:

      • UCSD, GPN, CLEM, FIU, EDC

Please read the release notes for Release 1.7 for details but some of the highlights include:-

      Control Framework:

      • Advanced Scheduling – Users can now schedule their slices in future.
      • Explicit Route Options – Users can now specify the exact network path for their Network Services.
      • Sub Interfaces – Users can not create VLAN tagged sub interfaces for Smart NICs enabling them to be connected to multiple Network Services.
      • Port Mirroring – Port mirroring has been enhanced to support mirroring Basic NICs.
      • List Resources enhanced to filter the resource information per host and based on time.

      Portal:

      • Project related enhancements: added funding, community and matrix link support; added public project list for unauthenticated users to view.
      • Resources enhancements: added level-2 data to site detail page to show resource availabilities per worker; added time filter to view future resource data.
      • Slice Builder/ Viewer enhancements: users can specify lease start time for future slice creation; FPGA support is added.
      • New external tools: Artifact Manager app is available on the Experiments page -> Artifact Manager tab; Public Metrics, Infrastructure Metrics, Optical Data and Latency Monitor are available on the Resources page -> Measuring and Monitoring Tools.

NOTE: Fablib – if you are still using Release 1.6 or older, please update fablib using the command:

      pip install fabrictestbed-extensions==1.7.1

Also, if you face issues running notebooks on JH, please ensure there are no entries for fabrictestbed-extensions  in fabric_config/requirements.txt. If you have any entries there, Please remove them and restart your JH container.

      Thanks,

      Komal
