Apart from using external IPv4 addresses and communicating with these nodes from external PCs connected to Usrp devices, is there any way to integrate USRP devices directly to the FABRIC nodes?
If yes, how?
Powder Testbed has USRP devices.
You can make a facility port on FABRIC and communicate with Powder nodes via Ethernet.
I found a work around using port forwarding on my local machine and used the forwarded USB port to the fabric node. The Fabric node can detect the USRP now. My concern now is, is there anyway, a node on the FABNET can access the public internet anyway?
Hi Sourya,
We offer FabNetv*Ext services that allow internet access; however, these services require special permission due to the potential security risks they pose. The Project Lead for your project can request these permissions as specified here!
Please consider checking the following examples on how to use these services:
Feel free to reach out in case you run into issues or have queries.
Thanks,
Komal
Hi Komal,
We have already requested ofr FABNetv4Ext. Awaiting approval.
Hi Sourya,
While your request is being reviewed, please consider trying the workaround suggested by @yoursunny here: https://learn.fabric-testbed.net/forums/topic/reaching-the-internet-from-a-fabnet-node/#post-7605
Thanks,
Komal
Hi Komal,
I have been able to reach the internet through a reverse proxy ssh tunneling through my local machine.
I also wanted to mention another option you can utilize: TailScale, which doesn’t require Ext services. You might find the Jupyter example helpful—check it out here.
Thanks,
Komal
Thank you Komal. I will try it out.
