Date: September 16, 2025
Time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM ET

Join us on September 16, 2025, from 3:00–4:00 PM ET for the next session in our Stitching Together Innovation webinar series. This session, led by Dagim Mindaye, will focus on implementing a load balancer for Kubernetes using a programmable data plane. Dagim, who joined the project in June, will share insights on extending the Kubernetes plugin and exploring the QUIC protocol for data center use.
This presentation will explore the integration of programmable data planes with Kubernetes, highlighting practical use cases and demonstrating how FABRIC enables innovation in networking research and education. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the presenters and discuss how these tools can enhance their own projects.

Dagim Mindaye
Dagim Mindaye is an international undergraduate computer science student at Alfred University from Ethiopia. He focuses on computer networking, distributed systems, and applied machine learning. His current research works on programmable data planes, Kubernetes orchestration, and transport protocols such as QUIC. He has been involved in projects integrating P4-enabled networking with Kubernetes services to study dynamic load balancing and routing. He utilizes the FABRIC testbed to evaluate these systems in real-world experimental environments. Beyond research, Dagim serves as vice president of Alfred’s African Student Association and collaborates with fellow computer science students on innovative side projects.
