      Dear FABRIC Project Leads,

It has been nearly a year since we introduced project expiration dates for all FABRIC projects. By default, projects expire after one year, with many scheduled to expire next month.

After expiration, access to FABRIC will be suspended for your project.

To ensure uninterrupted use of FABRIC, it is imperative that you request a renewal for your project. When making this request, please complete the following steps:

      1. Update Your Project Description: Provide a brief description of your project that can be shared with NSF program managers who support our funding. Sharing your user story is crucial for the continued success of FABRIC.
      2. Share Your Publications: If you have published any papers using FABRIC, include them in your renewal request.  Please cite FABRIC in your papers!
      3. Specify Funding Source: Detail the funding source for your project (e.g., NSF, DoE, NIH) along with any relevant award information such as directorate, program, and award number.
      4. Provide External Links: If your project has a website or other external sources of information, please include them.
      5. Update FABRIC Matrix: Create or update your FABRIC Matrix to reflect the current status of your project.

To request an extension, log in to the portal, navigate to your project profile, and click the “Renew Project” button in the banner indicating that your project will soon expire.

If you do not see a “Renew Project” button on your project page, your project is likely not expiring soon. Your project page contains the project expiration date.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

      Best regards,

      Paul
