New Features Available in FABRIC Portal

Dear experimenters,

New features of user/ project preference setting and public user/ profile page are available in FABRIC Portal now! Here are the details:

• User Profile page is updated with “My Profile” section with editable fields in a form on top and static information in a table at bottom. You can also set the privacy preferences and choose information you want to be available to all FABRIC users;
• If you are project owner and set a project as public project, you can decide whether to show the project owners/ members for its public profile page;
• On the updated public profile page, if project owners/ members are set as shown, you can find links to personal public user profile pages in the table;
• Public user profile page contains three sections: 1. basic information per users’ preference setting; 2. user roles: project roles table (includes links to each project profile page); 3. User SSH keys (sliver keys).

By default most basic information about you and your project will be made available to other FABRIC users as this way this information may be of most use to the community to enable creation of interesting collaborations. However we understand that in some cases you may decide to keep some of that information private and will provide appropriate controls for it.

We would like to encourage you to fill out your project description information (and change project name, if appropriate) now – these are both important for others who may be looking at your project page in the portal, as well as for us – this is critically important for NSF reporting.
