Hello,
I can not SSH or execute commands to all the nodes in slice: a336a5f3-266b-438f-8759-8a13f50fc8e
Although, I can SSH to nodes from other slice. I tried manually connect to one of the nodes in this slice and I got this error:
Warning: Permanently added ‘bastion.fabric-testbed.net’ (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.
Warning: Permanently added ‘2610:e0:a04c:fab2:f816:3eff:fe97:33ab’ (ED25519) to the list of known hosts.
ubuntu@2610:e0:a04c:fab2:f816:3eff:fe97:33ab: Permission denied (publickey). How can I fix this issue?
Thank you in advance.
February 11, 2026 at 10:27 am #9499If I understand the problem from the description correctly (“manual connect”), you’re trying to connect to the VM(s) from a terminal on your computer/laptop and getting the error. If that’s the case, you need to set up your ssh client configuration file and ssh keys properly (in your computer/laptop) and connect. This page can be helpful -> https://learn.fabric-testbed.net/knowledge-base/logging-into-fabric-vms/
If my understanding is wrong and problem is something different, please disregard the info above.
February 11, 2026 at 10:33 am #9500Yes, I meant SSH using terminal. I am able to connect to other VMs using the same PC. I only have issue with this slice. Since I am able to connect to other VMs I do not think I have issues with keys/configurations. Is there another solution I could try?
Thank you,
February 11, 2026 at 11:10 am #9501So, since you’re able to login to this problematic VM from other sources, then you can check and make sure the right SSH key is inside the VM. I just placed my SSH key in it, and I could login properly. Please let us know about the status following your SSH key check and I will take a look further.
February 11, 2026 at 1:08 pm #9502Thank you, I was able to ssh using slice>connect to VM ” with generating new key” and I added the public key myself. For all the VMs except “Spine12” I got the error below. Management IP Address: 2610:e0:a04c:fab2:f816:3eff:fe41:d076
Error reading SSH protocol banner
How can I solve this issue?
Thank you.
February 11, 2026 at 3:39 pm #9508Not sure what happened, but I am able now to connect to all the VMs and it is fixed.
Thank you Mert for the help.
Best regards,
Meshal
